10/22 Man Arrested for Impersonating an Officer

Germantown Police are reporting today that a 42-year-old man was arrested over the weekend for impersonating an officer after an incident in which he used red and blue lights mounted to the roof of his vehicle in an attempt to pull a woman over on Freistadt Road. According to Peter Hoell Germantown Police Chief the woman reported that a dark unmarked SUV activated its lights twice while traveling behind her heading east on Freistadt Road,  just north of Wasaukee Road on  Saturday night. The woman did not pull over and she called 911 and told the dispatcher that when she didn’t pull over, the SUV pulled around her and left the scene. She gave dispatcher the license plate number. Germantown officers met with an Ozaukee County deputy who went to the vehicle’s registered owner’s address in Cedarburg. The man was taken into custody for impersonating a peace officer. The Mequon Police Department is also investigating an earlier incident allegedly involving the same vehicle.
