For the seventh time in the past three years, the Hartford Police Department tomorrow will be conducting a prescription drug take back program. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. At the Woodlawn Park parking lot in the 1000 block of Wacker Drive in Hartford . Anyone living in Washington County can bring medications for disposal. With this event The Drug Enforcement Administration is giving the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. The service is free and anonymous, no questions will be asked. The Hartford Police Department has offered this free service as a way of preventing accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs. In addition, Americans are now advised that their usual methods for disposing of unused medicines—flushing them down the toilet or throwing them in the trash. Both of these methods pose potential safety and health hazards.
