An armed man who Jackson police say was attempting to rob the Culver's restaurant in the Village of Jackson was shot by police Sunday morning. According to Chief Jed Dolnick of the Jackson Police Department’s a Jackson police officer and two Washington County sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call at the restaurant on Tillie Lake Court about 8:30 a.m. The suspect, confronted officers behind the restaurant and brandished a firearm. The officers opened fire, striking the man several times. The man was taken to nearby St. Joseph’s Hospital and then transferred by Flight for Life helicopter to Froedtert Hospital. A Culver's employee was injured while grappling with the suspect. The employee was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The restaurant was not open at the time of the incident. The Washington County Sheriff’s department is currently investigating the hold-up, while the West Bend Police Department is conducting a separate officer involved shooting investigation. Police remained at the restaurant until two thirty.
