The Hartford Police Department released information yesterday saying they had arrested a 26 year old man from Hartford on Monday afternoon in connection with the October 29th armed robbery of the Stop N Go gas station on Grand Avenue. According to Hartford Chief of Police David Groves, On Monday the Hartford Police Department was contacted by the Wauwatosa Police Department regarding a theft they were conducting in their jurisdiction. Wauwatosa officers informed us that they had probable cause to arrest the man we had previously identified as a person of interest in our robbery for a theft in their municipality. Hartford officers shared the information in our possession regarding his status in our investigation of the incident at our Stop-N-Go. Wauwatosa requested that we attempt to locate the man and take him into custody for them. At approximately 2:58pm, Hartford officers located and arrested this subject. The subject was turned over to officers from the Wauwatosa later that afternoon. Later that evening Wauwatosa officers advised that they had interviewed the subject regarding their incident as well as our own and several others. They advised us that they had obtained the subject’s confession to his involvement not only in their incident, but also with regard to the Armed Robbery of our Stop-N-Go on October 29th. The man told detectives that he had used a kitchen knife from his residence to rob the Stop-N-Go. The 26-year-old Hartford man was then transported to the Washington County Jail on charges of Armed Robbery stemming from his conduct in our jurisdiction. No further information is being released at this time.
