12/10 West Bend Police Handle Multiple OWI Cases

Despite the cold snowy weather on Sunday, West Bend Police were kept busy with a variety of criminal arrests.  Two men were stopped and charged with OWI violations.  The first was early Sunday morning just after two.  Police stopped a vehicle driven by a 34 year old man from West Bend at Sand Drive and Decorah Road for driving eratically.  The man failed a field sobriety test and blew a point one eight.  After a blood sample drawing, he was released into his wife's custody.  The second OWI violation happened about twent minutes later at Washington Street and Highway 45.  A 37 year old Medford man was caught driving eratically.  He was questioned by police and given a field sobriety test, which he failed when he blew a point one five.  He was charged with his first offense OWI and taken to jail on a twelve hour hold.  Finally, on Sunday night, Lieutenant Hartwell tell WBKV News that police dealt with a non OWI.  According to the report just prior to six, police arrested a 17 year old male teenager.  The teen was walking with three friends on the south west side and they appeared to be loitering to officers.  When initially questioned, the 17 year old ran away.  A short chase ensued and when he was caught, he told police he ran because he was out on bail and was afraid.  He was arrested for eluding a law officer and bail jumping.
