Two drivers were injured in a crash involving three semi-trucks in Dodge County late Wednesday morning. It happened at the intersection of State Highway 33 and County Highway P in the Town of Herman. Sheriff’s officials say a semi heading north on County Highway P struck another semi that was going west on State Highway 33, causing a large roll of steel to come off of the westbound semi’s trailer. The roll of steel was estimated to be in excess of 25,000 lbs. The third semi was eastbound and collided with that roll of steel. The driver of that eastbound semi was taken to Froedert Hospital with serious or critical injuries. The driver of the northbound semi was taken to Hartford Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The westbound semi driver was uninjured. None of the vehicles involved were hauling hazardous materials. The names of all the drivers will be released at a later time. Several agencies assisted the Sheriff’s Office including the Wisconsin State Patrol Troopers and Inspectors, Dodge County Highway Commission, Dodge County Emergency Management, Washington County Sheriff, Allenton Fire Department along with EMS teams from Allenton, Hartford Mayville and Theresa. The Dodge Sheriffs Department continues to investigate the crash in cooperation with the State Patrol Inspectors.
