There might be several inches of snow still on the ground, but it’s time to start thinking spring cleaning. The county Land and Water Conservation Division of the Planning and Parks Department has announced that the Spring edition for Washington County’s Full Service Clean Sweep of household and agricultural hazardous waste will be held Saturday May 10 in Slinger. This will be the first of two collections planned this year and the first time it will be held in Slinger. The May tenth collection will be held from 8 a.m. until noon at the Washington County Slinger Highway Shop, 314 W. Washington Street along Highway 175. The seasonal event is limited to 250 vehicles and pre-registration is strongly recommended. A ten dollar registration fee is required for hazardous waste and electronic goods. The pharmaceutical collection does not require registration. Used tire collection participation is also unlimited with a maximum of 20 tires per participant and disposal fees apply. You can register for the hazardous waste and egoods collections in one of three ways: Download the Registration Form from the website, and mail in payment; Stop in at the Washington County Land and Water Conservation Division, 333 E. Washington St., Suite 2300, in West Bend to submit your payment. Or, Call 335-4808, leave your name, address and phone number and a registration form will be mailed to you.
