Washington County Sheriff Deputies teamed up with West Bend Police officers Thursday morning to arrest three people from Milwaukee in connection with a theft from the Walmart store. According to the combined reports from both departments Walmart Loss Prevention agents called police about 11am to report a retail theft in progress involving multiple individuals. Someone was throwing merchandise over the wall in the Garden Center. A West Bend officer arrived as the suspects were loading the car in the lot and yelled, "stop police"! At that point the suspects drove away. At that same time a Deputy pulled into the entrance and observed the car coming at her. She activated her lights and they nearly hit her before swerving around her and driving away. A chase began involving both police and sheriff deputies. The vehicle crashed in 1600 block of Vogt drive and both subjects fled on foot. Both subjects were located and taken into custody. A 48 year old man from Milwaukee was placed in jail for Felony Retail Theft and Fleeing an Officer. A 52 year old man also from Milwaukee was placed in jail for Felony Retail Theft, Obstructing an Officer, a Probation Hold and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia as he was found to be in possession of a crack pipe. At Walmart, a third person, a 53 year old woman from Milwaukee, was also taken into custody and placed in jail for Felony Retail Theft. The value of the merchandise that was stolen was over $1,000.
