A long time popular downtown West Bend restaurant has closed its doors. Januli’s Pizzeria and Italian Eatery closed for business Saturday night. A spokesperson reveled to WBKV News that the business deal closed Thursday night and that a new business will tentatively open July first, Januli’s opened in 2001 as a partnership between Jim and Julie Sears, Jan Walters and Jane Clark. Jim and Julie Sears still co-own the building located at 115 South Main Street. Julie Sears says the decision to close the business happened fairly quickly. Sears refused to comment on who the new owner is. However, WBKV News has learned through speaking with a few people, that Tony Cable, General Manager of the Popular Inn has purchased the business. We have placed several phone calls to Cable to get his confirmation and have not heard back from him as of this time.
