4/7 Armed Robbery at Hartford Verizon Wireless Store

A total of five people from Milwaukee are in police custody on connection with an armed robbery Friday at the Verizon Wireless store on East Sumner Street in Hartford. According to a report from David Groves, Chief of Police in Hartford, a 21 year old black male wearing a mask entered the store and produced a handgun. The suspect demanded cell phones and cash. The store's employees complied. He fled the scene with over $16,000 in cell phones, various electronic items and cash. Prior to the robbery, a vehicle was seen moving from the front to rear parking lot. That same car was seen leaving the lot at a high rate of speed a few moments later. A witness obtained a license plate and a short time later, police stopped the vehicle in Slinger. Two people were taken into custody, a 19 year old man and a 21 year old woman, both from Milwaukee. Hartford police questioned the suspects and they admitted to serving as look out for the man who actually committed the robbery and fled in another car. The third suspect is a 21 year old Milwaukee man who was arrested early Saturday morning by Milwaukee police at his home. He admitted that he was the masked robber. As a result of the arrests, felony charges of armed robbery and charges to being party to a crime of armed robbery are being filed with the Washington County D.A.'s office. A fourth suspect, a 26 year old Milwaukee woman is also being charged for her connection to the crime.
