5/16 Fire Causes $500 Damage to Storage Building

A small fire that was simmering for a several days under the roof flushing caused an estimated five hundred dollars worth of damages to a storage building at 2100 Northwestern Avenue. According to West Bend Fire Chief Jerry Kudek, workers from a nearby construction site, noticed smoke coming from the roof of the facility and called the fire department at five forty five Wednesday evening. Fire fighters discovered smoke coming from the wooded roof area under some flushing. A few days earlier, workers were cutting boards for the roof using electrical tools and apparently some sparks began a slow ignition. The smoldering small fire was brought under control. No one was injured. Damage to the facility is estimated at just five hundred dollars.
