5/20 Police Handle Various Alcoholic Related Cases

In addition to the drug and alcohol related cases that West Bend police dealt with in the first portion of the weekend that we reported on in an earlier newscast, there were also a few other criminal cases from the later portion of the weekend. Lieutenant Hartwell informs WBKV News that Saturday night at eleven twenty, police stopped a 27 year old West Bend man at sixth and Elm Streets after he was observed driving with a suspended registration.  During questioning, the driver was found to be intoxicated and initially provided police with his brother’s name.  The driver failed the field sobriety tests and was cited for his  first Offense OWI and placed in jail on a Probation Hold and for Obstructing an Officer after providing a false name. The next case, also alcohol related was reported Sunday morning at nine twenty on the west side of town. A concerned resident called the police after they had seen a person sleeping in some bushes outside of the AmericInn. Police responded to the motel. They identified a 20 year old West Bend man who was found inside one of the rooms at the motel.  The man was found to have been drinking and was issued a citation for Underage Consumption and was placed in jail on a Probation Hold.
