5/6 3 OWI Arrests Highlight Police Weekend Arrest Logs

West Bend Police shadowed the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department over the weekend with the total amount of first offense OWI violations. Both departments recorded three. According to Lieutenant Michael Hartwell of the West Bend Police, Saturday night at ten twenty, a 31 year old Milwaukee man, was stopped at Lincoln Drive West and Hawthorn Drive for Operating While Suspended. During questioning, the driver was found to be intoxicated and there were open intoxicants in the vehicle. He failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested for his first Offense OWI.  The man was placed in jail for an outstanding warrant from Racine County for Obstructing. The second OWI violation took place Sunday morning just after three am. 
A 21 year old female resident of West Bend, was stopped for speeding in the 400 Block of River Road. Upon questioning, officers determined she was intoxicated.  She failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested for her first Offense OWI. The woman was released a short time later to a responsible adult. The final OWI violation happened Monday morning at one thirty am. A 34 year old Milwaukee man, was arrested for OWI, after being stopped for a suspended registration.  During the stop, the officer detected the odor of burnt marijuana. During questioning, the man admitted to smoking marijuana before driving to West Bend. He failed the field sobriety tests and was arrested for a first Offense OWI and was released to a responsible adult.
