The White House of Music store in West Bend would be converted into an auto repair and sales facility for the neighboring Russ Darrow Chrysler dealership, under a new proposal. According to an article in today’s business section of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the Russ Darrow Group would spend $350,000 to update the building, at 3218 W. Washington St., and add ten new jobs. The group operates a dealership at 3210 W. Washington St. White House of Music, which sells, rents and repairs music instruments, will open a new West Bend store to replace the building it is selling to the Darrow Group, according to owner Christopher White. White House of Music has been in West Bend since 2001, when it bought the Washington Street store from GW Music. The building is around 8,000 square feet, White said, which is larger than needed. Other locations in Wauwatosa, Germantown and Watertown are around 3,000 to 4,000 square feet, White said. The city Planning Commission is to consider rezoning the property for the purposes of the Darrow Group at its meeting tonight.
