7 / 25 Sheriff Deputies Arrest Two People on OWI Violations

Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s office arrested two people on separate OWI violations earlier this week. The first case was reported Tuesday night just prior to eleven pm. According to Lieutenant Martin Schulteiss, a 51 year old Town of Trenton woman drove her truck into the ditch just west of the Tri-Par gas station on Highway 33 near Newburg. Upon questioning by officers she showed obvious signs of impairment.  She was field tested and arrested for her 7th offense OWI.  She also admitted to drinking and using
prescription medications.  She was taken to the hospital for a blood draw, and then transported and booked into the county jail. The second OWI arrest could have had a critical result.  A 20 year old
Sussex man was northbound on Highway 164 at three thirty am Wednesday morning when he passed another northbound vehicle. According to the report, during the passing maneuver he bumped and rear ended the other vehicle which caused him to fish tail and roll into the ditch.  The car ended up resting on its roof.  During questioning, the Sussex man admitted to drinking. Limited field tests were done and he was he was transported by Richfield Rescue to an area hospital to be treated for minor injuries. He was later arrested for a first offense OWI. The other driver a 46 year old Waukesha man was not hurt
