8 / 12 Sears Possibly to Make a Return to West Bend


The possibility of the Sears store franchise could be returning to West Bend in the form of a Sears Hometown store. Company officials say if they can find a buyer to operate the business, they would open an outlet store in west Bend that would sell appliances and other goods such as tools and lawn and garden equipment. The facility would be in a space occupying eight to ten thousand square feet. A company spokesperson estimates initial costs for an investor would be about $96,000.  Publicly traded Sears Hometown and Outlet Stores was spun off from former parent Sears Holdings Corp. in October 2012. As of last February, the spinoff had 1,260 stores, most of them operated by independent dealers and franchisees. The operations included nine stores in Wisconsin
