8/22 - Charges Issued for Fight at the Dodge County Fair

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office has issued 18 citations for Disorderly Conduct following a fight between teenage girls that were videotaped last weekend at the Dodge County Fair. A total of 11 females (ages 13-17) and 7 males (14-17) from Beaver Dam, Horicon, Mayville, Burnett and Juneau were involved in the incident. Reports indicate that the fight ensued due to name calling and initially involved five girls. The other girls became involved when a lemonade cup was smashed over one of the girl's head which led to another girl getting thrown down to the ground being kicked and punched. After interviewing the boys they indicated they did not seek out assistance or call 911. They stated they thought someone else would call and that they didn't have to. Sheriff Ninnman said that the teenager's actions are not conducive to the family environment that is expected while attending the Dodge County Fair. She also stated "this situation could have led to serious injuries, not only to those involved, but also to innocent young children that were in the area".
