Wednesday afternoon at 1:20pm the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a possible residential burglary on Sandy Ridge Road in the Town of Barton. According to the Sheriff’s report, two teenage boys were at home sleeping when one of them was awoken by noises inside the home. He went to investigate the noises and startled the intruder who then attacked him. The thief then tied up the two boys. He then stole a vehicle from the residence and fled the area. The suspect obtained a phone number from the teenagers of someone that he could call for them. He then contacted the relative notifying them that the teenagers were tied up at the residence and that they were unharmed. The boys were not able to provide a detailed description of the suspect because he was wearing a mask. The case is now under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
