8 / 5 Fourth Offense OWI and Theft Forgery Highlight Weekend Arrests

The first weekend in the month of August was quite busy for officers in the West Police Department.  Early Saturday morning at two am, an officer found a 41 year old man from Oakfield, on his motorcycle, stuck on the median on Washington at North. During questioning,  the driver was found to be intoxicated. He failed the field sobriety tests and was placed in jail for his 4th Offense OWI.  During the investigation, the officer located a white powder, which tested positive for cocaine, and some drug paraphernalia.  Additional charges of Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia were requested. On Sunday morning at nine fifteen, A 29 year old West Bend woman living on the south east side of town, became upset when she found out her roommate, a 37 year old male, was a registered sex offender and had not told her about his past.  The two became involved in an argument during which the man threw some keys at her prior to leaving the residence.  Police began a search for the man; he was eventually located in Cedarburg and was placed in jail for Disorderly Conduct. Finally, Monday morning at eight, police were dispatched to a home on the south east side of town. When they arrived, a 17 year old girl was arrested and placed in jail on charges of Theft and Forgery after stealing two checks from her parents and cashing them for a total of $130.00.
