8 / 7 New West Bend High School Principal Selected

                      
The West Bend School District has selected William Greymont as the new principal of West Bend East and West High Schools, replacing Jim Curler, who had a career advancement opportunity to become the Assistant Superintendent of the Slinger School District. Greymont has severed as the Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at Beaver Dam High school since 2009. From 2005 thru 2008, Greymont was with the Wisconsin Heights School District in Mazomanie, teaching social studies and also served as the district’s Athletic Director. Prior to those positions, he taught social studies for the Cedar Grove Belgium School District. West Bend School Superintendent Ted Nietzke said in a prepared release from the school district  “We’re excited to bring in Bill with his diverse leadership experiences and energy to support our mission and vision,” Feedback from the interview team focused on Bill’s leadership, diverse life experiences, understanding of children and desire to serve the community.” Greymont received his teaching certification from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee and his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Cardinal Stritch University. WBKV News attempted to reach him  by phone for some comments, but he was not available. In a release from the school district he said that he is looking forward to becoming part of a great, high-performing educational community in West Bend. On a personal non-academic note, Greymont, had a 20-year career in the Army National Guard, rising to the rank of major. Greymont spent a year deployed in Kuwait and Iraq as a 1-121 field artillery battalion operations officer.
