West Bend Mayor Kraig Sadownikiw has been in office for two and half years, and he said that for two of those years he has been confident that he would run for re-election. In an exclusive interview with WBKV News on Thursday, the mayor made that thought official and announced that he has his family’s blessings to run for re-election and that he would be seeking a second term. Unlike many other cities, the mayor of West Bend is a part-time position. West Bend pays its mayor an annual salary of just $7600 plus a monthly expense allowance of one hundred fifty dollars. As of today, Sadownikow will be opposed by one other candidate, District 8 Alderman Roger Kist. Candidates for next April’s non-partisan election can start circulating nomination papers on December first.
