Complete details are not available as of right now; however WBKV News has learned that the Washington County Sheriff’s Department was called to the scene of a fatal traffic accident just after eight this morning. The collision happened on Hwy 33 west of Aurora Road in the Town of Addison. Initial reports claim four vehicles were involved. They were apparently stopped for traffic by a construction flagman and the last car in line failed to stop and slammed into the stopped cars. Several drivers and passengers were injured and at least one person is confirmed to have died on the scene. Traffic was diverted around the scene via County D for several hours following the crash, as well as both lanes of traffic along Highway 33 being closed. Sheriff deputies anticipated re-opening the road early this afternoon. No names of the injured or the deceased have been released. The crash is being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff’s Accident Reconstruction Team.
