9/16 House Fire in Richfield

A house fire in the Village of Richfield fire caused estimated $200,000 damage to a home and contents on Saturday morning.  According to the report from the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, the home was located on Friess Lake Road.  The fire was reported to authorities at about 8:25 am on Saturday morning. 9-14-2013. Fire departments responding and assisting were Richfield, Germantown, Jackson, Slinger and Lisbon. No firefighters were hurt while at the scene. One of the homeowners sustained minor burns to both arms as he attempted to extinguish the fire prior to fire fighters arrival. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The cause of the fire is still undetermined and is being investigated by the Sheriff’s Office and Richfield Fire Department.  A section of the road was closed to traffic for several hours as the fire departments fought the fire.
