9/17 Suspect Arrested in Residential Fire Investigation

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, working in conjunction with the Department of Justice -- Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Arson Bureau, has made an arrest in connection to a residential fire in the early morning hours of August 25th at 527 Franklin Street in the Village of Newburg. In a prepared news release Lieutenant t Robert Konstanz says that an origin and cause investigation has been conducted, which indicates the fire was intentionally set.  The suspect is being identified as 23 year old   Sean Michael Regan of Newburg. He has been charged in Washington County Circuit Court with Arson of a Building without the Owner’s Consent, Burglary, 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Criminal Damage to Property.  The damage to the residence is estimated between $200,000 and $220,000.  Regan remains jailed with a $50,000 cash bond.
