A Harlem Globetrotter Broke a World Record by Making a Shot from Over 109 Feet A

Yesterday was the ninth annual Guinness World Records Day, when Guinness tries to break as many records as possible.

 

 

And a Harlem Globetrotter who goes by the name Thunder Law broke one . . . by making a shot from over 109 feet away.

 

 

He did it at US Airways Center, where the Phoenix Suns play, and was exactly 109 feet, 9 inches from the basket.

 

 

Just to put that in perspective, an NBA court is 94 feet long.  So he was behind three rows of seats when he shot it.

 

 

 

 ( He shoots it at :37, and  then it shows replays from several different angles.  In case you're wondering, the old record was 104 feet, 7 inches.)


(That definitely wasn't the WEIRDEST record broken yesterday though.  A guy in Japan broke his own record by running 100 meters . . . on ALL FOURS . . . in 16.87 seconds.  Check out more weird records that were broken here.)
