A Huge Sinkhole Opened in the National Corvette Museum and Swallowed Eight Cars

by Bob posted Feb 13 2014 4:17AM

Around 5:45 yesterday morning, an enormous SINKHOLE opened up in the middle of a showroom at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky . . . and swallowed EIGHT Corvettes.

You can check out some INSANE photos of it online.  The hole is about 40 feet wide and 20 to 30 feet deep.  According to a spokesman, the total value of the cars is "substantial," but he didn't give an exact figure.

But just to give you an idea, the models ranged from 1962 to 2009.  And one of the NEWER Corvettes was a ZR1 that had a base price of over $103,000 when it came out in 2009.

Obviously the entire showroom has been blocked off while they figure out what to do.  But apparently they're not worried about it happening anywhere else, because the rest of the museum is still open.
