SAMUEL L. JACKSON
went off on an entertainment reporter who confused him with LAURENCE FISHBURNE
during an interview yesterday.
Sam Rubin of KTLA in Los Angeles made a comment about Sam's Super Bowl commercial . . . but Sam DIDN'T do a Super Bowl commercial. Fishburne did one . . . for Kia.
So Jackson immediately jumped on him, saying, quote, "See, you're as crazy as the people on Twitter. I'm not Laurence Fishburne! . . . We don't all look alike! . . . You're busted!"
He was definitely having fun with it, but he wouldn't drop it. Rubin tried several times to steer the conversation toward the new "Robocop" movie, but Jackson wouldn't let him.
He said there's, quote, "more than one black guy doing a commercial," and clarified that he's the "What's in your wallet black guy" . . . while Fishburne is the "car black guy." Then he talked about the OTHER black guys he's not, including MORGAN FREEMAN.
Now, during the interview, Rubin was VERY apologetic, and totally admitted he messed up. He even slapped himself in the face at one point.
But in an apology later in the day, he claimed he did NOT confuse Jackson and Fishburne . . . he claimed the Super Bowl commercial he was talking about was the trailer for "Captain America", which Jackson IS in.
And to be fair, that's what Rubin was talking about when he mentioned the Super Bowl to Jackson.
He said, quote, "Working for Marvel, the Super Bowl commercial . . . did you get a lot of reaction to that Super Bowl commercial?"
