Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for Tom Cruise's sci-fi thriller "Edge of Tomorrow," six months before the film opens on June 6.
The trailer highlights Cruise's character being stuck in a time loop. Film is set in the near future when an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world.
Village Roadshow co-produced the actioner.
Cruise plays an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. The Canadian airline WestJet recently set up a "virtual Santa" station at two different airports, where passengers and their kids could talk to a video screen and tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas.
So people did it because they didn't have anything better to do while they waited for their flight. But when they landed and got to the baggage claim, the presents came out on the conveyor belt . . . wrapped . . . with their NAMES on them.
It turns out that while they were in the air, the airline had gotten 150 volunteers to go from store to store and actually BUY the stuff people asked for.
And some of the presents were AWESOME. One kid got an Android tablet, several people got flights home for the holidays, and one family got a 50-inch BIG SCREEN TV.
Of course, other people didn't realize they'd actually be GETTING what they asked for, and didn't go BIG enough with their requests. One guy asked for socks and underwear, and that's exactly what he got. Still, he seemed pretty happy with it.
The airline set up a bunch of hidden cameras, so you can check out all the reactions on YouTube.

The marketing began at this year's Comic-Con in San Diego.

Still trying to figure out if this is a real prank or a stunt...
A Guy Teaches His Alcoholic Friend a Lesson . . . By Waiting for Him to Pass Out, Then Tricking Him Into Thinking He Was in a Coma for 10 Years
A comedian named Tom Mabe decided that his friend who has a SERIOUS drinking problem needed to be taught a lesson after he got his FIFTH DUI. So he waited until he passed out drunk, and pulled a pretty crazy prank.
Mabe and his friends took an empty office, set it up like a hospital room, and put the guy in the bed. Then when he finally came to . . . they made him think he'd crashed his car and been in a ten-year COMA. And they got REALLY elaborate with it.
The video is on YouTube, and about three minutes in, a "doctor" turns on a TV showing a fake news report about Miley Cyrus living in a TRAILER PARK, and Justin Bieber celebrating his 10-year anniversary with Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Then Mabe finally reveals it's a prank by pretending to be a doctor who's testing the guy's reflexes . . . by slapping him in the FACE over and over again.
At that point, the guy figures it out and starts LAUGHING. But Mabe just keeps slapping him and yelling that getting five DUI's is NOT FUNNY.

In case you missed it, Broncos placekicker Matt Prater nailed a 64-yard field goal against the Tennessee Titans yesterday . . . the longest in NFL history. The previous record was 63 yards, and four people had hit it since 1970.
It was in Denver, right before halftime, and the Broncos went on to win 51 to 28. (Click here to watch: "Matt Prater Makes Longest Field Goal In NFL History.")
