Yes...We're Jealous of the Vacation Time People Get in Other Countries

September is coming, which means people in Europe are finally finishing up their two-month vacations.  Meanwhile, your boss gave you grief for taking a half-day so you could finally make it to your kid's little league game.

A new global survey on vacation days found Americans are more jealous of the vacation time people get in other countries than anyone else . . . and rightfully so.

Americans get the least paid vacation time of any of the 10 first-world countries in the survey, with an average of 18 days.  Even in Japan, where people are expected to work themselves to death, they get 19 days off a year.

On the other end of the scale, the French get an average of 31 paid vacation days, Russians get 29, Italians get 27, and Germans get 26.

Only 24% of Americans feel like their vacation time is fair compared to the rest of the world.  In every other country surveyed, at least two-thirds of people think their vacation time is fair.

We're not greedy either.  The average American says if they got just FOUR more paid vacation days, they'd think that was totally fair.
