Jim & Marty Burch both play with the Big Cedar Bluegrass Band. The band has been in existance since 1992 and has allowed them to indulge their passion for acoustic and bluegrass music. Jim has been playing in bands over the past twenty years and he really knows his way around stringed instruments playing banjo, dobro, guitar and mandolin. He also sings baritone and lead with the band. Marty has been playing in bands since the 1960's and with Big Cedar she plays rhythm guitar and sings lead or tenor.
Both Jim and Marty have day jobs. Jim is a Spanish teacher at West Bend West High School and Marty is a self-employed Teddy Bear Artist.
Jim's extensive Bluegrass CD collection has given him a solid base if music to play on The Bluegrass Show on Sunday afternoons at WBKV. Jim and Marty also try to be informative about the music and fun to listen to. Listeners often have a chance to call in for free event tickets, to enter to win CD and of course to request their favorite bluegrass song.
