A new partnership between Habitat for Humanity of Washington and Dodge Counties and Moraine Park Technical College literally breaks ground today. The two entities will hold a ceremonial ground breaking today at four for two new homes. The site is located on Municipal Drive in West Bend just south of the intersection of Hwy 33 and Municipal Drive. The ceremony will start the beginning of a partnership between the two organizations in which both will work together to accomplish their missions. Moraine Park Technical College will be teaching their students through hands on experience on the job site. Habitat for Humanity will continue to provide simple, affordable homes for their partner families to purchase and learn more about the value of home ownership. Russ Wanta, the Executive Director for Habitat for Humanity explains the building process of the two homes. He says the students won’t be the only ones building the two homes. According to Wanta, the two families are also required to sweat it out with the students. Wanta says the actual building process will occur over the entire school year, so the two families will actually start living in their new homes next spring.
