Employees of the city of West Bend received good news this week. For the first time in three years, they will be getting a cost of living wage increase. T.J. Justice, the interim City Administrator spoke with WBKV News and commented on the announcement. Justice said the salary increase takes effect next month. The last time a compensation study was conducted happened ten years ago. In March of this year the common council hired a firm to conduct an updated study. Based on the results, Justice says city officials are pleased. Justice aid based under the new compensation scales, the estimated 250 employees less the police and fire personnel will receive salaries at about $32,000 on the low end to a maximum amount of almost $110,000.
