Terri Miller and Andrew Carlton from Kewaskum have been named Fuel Up to Play 60 Most Valuable Players for this school year. As MVPs, they both recently attended a training summit in Green Bay with the other representatives. Terri and Andrew will work with students and teachers in their district to implement healthy eating and physical activity plays. They will spread the word throughout the state to let others know how important it is to get 60 minutes of exercise every day and fuel up with healthy foods. Andrew is a 6th grade student at Kewaskum Middle School. The most successful Fuel Up to Play 60 activity at his school was the Taste Test a Rainbow, which gave students a chance to taste a new fruit, dairy and vegetable each month. Fuel Up to Play 60 Advisor, Terri Miller is the Foodservice Director at Kewaskum School District. Laura Wilford, an area Director with the Wisconsin Dairy Council said they are excited to work with these MVPs this school year. Wilford also stated that these chosen candidates in Kewaskum have shown leadership and dedication to the health and wellness of their peers. The Dairy Council looks forward to seeing everything they accomplish in the upcoming school year.” Fuel Up to Play 60 is sponsored locally by the Wisconsin Dairy Council. Fuel Up to Play 60 is an in-school nutrition and physical activity program launched by the National Dairy Council (NDC) and the National Football League .The program encourages youth to eat nutrient-rich foods including low-fat and fat-free dairy, fruits, vegetables and whole grains) and achieve at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day.
