The next meeting of the Kewaskum Village Board is scheduled for tonight. The various department heads will give updated reports including Fire Chief Mark Groeschel and Police Chief Thomas Bishop. Chief Bishop will report on Nixle, the new social media outlet. Jerry Gilles, the Director of Public Works will present an updated report on the Main Street Highway 28 project along with a report on Silver Fox North and South repairs. Deputy Treasurer / clerk Stephanie Justman will officially announce the scheduled office hours for September that Congressman Sensenbrenner will be having. A few items will be addressed in Old Business including a discussion and possible action on rescheduling the 2013 Trick Or Treat hours and a pending announcement regarding the hiring of a waste water treatment plant operator. Items of concern to be addressed in new business include one topic which could draw some heated discussions, that is possible elimination of the Director of Public Works position effective October first. Also under new business will be the discussion and possible action on closing certain village streets for the Keys 5k run / walk on October 13th. The board meeting will begin at seven tonight in the Council Room of the Municipal Building at 204 First Street. It is open to Kewaskum residents.
