A twenty year old man from Richfield sustained injuries after he lost control of his car and rolled it over onto a county highway Monday afternoon. According to Sergeant Beres of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, at about 3:25pm they were notified of a single vehicle rollover accident in the area of Slinger Road and Sherman Road in the Town of Polk. Lifestar Ambulance and Slinger Fire Department were dispatched. The Sheriff’s Office also requested a squad from the Slinger Police Department respond to check for injuries. Upon arrival, the officer from Slinger reported the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was moving, but would need to be extricated from the vehicle. The 20 year old man was extricated from the vehicle and flown to Froedtert Hospital by Flight for Life with non-life threatening injuries. According to the news release, the man’s car was northbound on Slinger Road when he lost control of the vehicle. It went off the east shoulder, overturned twice and came to rest on the roof with the driver inside. The crash remains under investigation. Speed does appear to be a contributing factor in the accident.
