10/2 Powder Puff Football Game and Fireworks Tonight

Homecoming week festivities are in full swing in advance of Friday night’s game between the Suns and Spartans. Tonight features the annual Powder Puff Games on the football field. The Powder Puff games with the freshman game at 5 p.m., sophomores at 5:50 p.m., juniors at 6:40 p.m. and finally the seniors at 7:30 p.m. The fireworks display will take place immediately following the senior Powder Puff game starting at about eight forty five. Tonight’s fireworks are sponsored by the high school’s Booster Club.  According to West Bend School Superintendent Ted Neitzke, the fireworks in recent years have taken the place of the traditional bonfire that followed the Powder Puff games primarily as a safety precaution. Homecoming Week festivities will culminate Friday with a parade at 4 p.m. that starts at Decorah Road at Lincoln Drive and travels east on Decorah Road.  Look for the WBKV van in the parade. The parade is followed by a tailgate party near the tennis courts at the high schools. The homecoming game, East vs. West, kicks off at 7 p.m.
