10/2 West Bend Police Handle Weekend Domestic Problems

It was a rough weekend for domestic dispute calls in West Bend. According to Lieutenant Michael Hartwell of the West Bend Police, officers responded to two different calls within an hour. The first incident happened on Sunday afternoon at two twenty five on the city’s south east side. A thirty three year old man was in a dispute with his thirty two year old girlfriend over some of his missing personal items. He slapped her several times and put her into a headlock which caused her to experience breathing problems. She also sustained some minor scratches to her forehead. When police arrived, the man was arrested on charges of battery and disorderly conduct.  Just over an hour later at three thirty eight, police were dispatched to a home on the northwest side. According to Lieutenant Hartwell, a 38 year old man was in a heated fight with his live-in girlfriend, as she was packing to move out. He hit her and pushed her down very hard. She suffered minor injuries. He was taken into custody on charges of battery and disorderly conduct.
