A five day thirteen city tour with the Roundy’s Foundation began on Monday in West Bend at the Pick and Save on South Main Street. The tour makes donations to area food pantries in each city. Connie Jones, Roundy’s Food Foundation Administrator provides details on the tour,. During the tour, the Roundy’s Foundation will be donating more than $218,000 in food and money to 60 food pantries throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin. Each pantry will receive a donation of food and money that is valued at over $3,600. Pick ‘n Save employees were in the parking lot on Monday and unloaded a semi-truck full of 9,488 pounds of food that was handed over to representatives from area food pantries who are feeling the strain of the economy and increased demand. The four food pantries that received the donations included the food pantry in Hartford. Other area food pantries receiving the donations included Full Shelf Food Pantry in West Bend, Slinger Food Pantry and the Jackson Food Pantry.
