10/15 Police Search for Loose Dog that Bit Child

The West Bend Police Department is asking for the public’s help today in locating a stray dog that bit a young child on Friday afternoon. According to Lieutenant Michael Hartwell the incident took place at about five thirty Friday afternoon along the Eisenbahn Trail just north of Decorah Road. A fifty five year old white male about six feet and weighing two hundred ten pounds was walking his two dogs, a smaller dog about fifteen pounds and a larger dog which bit the nine year old boy. The larger dog is described as being brown in color with short hair and no tail. If you see or know where this dog is, you are being asked to call the West Bend Police so they can determine if the dog has had rabies a shot and then avoid the young boy having to get the shots. The number to call is 335-5012.
West Bend Police are also reporting the arrest of three adults on charges of felony retail theft from the Walmart store. Lieutenant Hartwell tells WBKV News that Saturday morning at one am, three people, a forty one year old woman from Minnesota along with two men from Milwaukee, ages twenty and twenty one were observed by store security cameras placing numerous items inside a large bag and concealing them. As they attempted to leave the store, the woman was stopped and questioned. The two men walked out, but then phoned her in an attempt to distract store officials. Police arrived and took all three people in custody. Store officials told police the estimated value of the items was over one thousand dollars.
