Good news came out of the common council meeting on Monday night for city of West Bend residents. There will not be any tax hikes for 2014. The proposed rate of $8.52 for next year is very close to this year’s rate. Some people in government positions think this could hurt a city financially, but not In West Bend according to Mayor Kraig Sadownikow. The mayor said he feels one reason that they are able to hold the tax rate steady is because now in the city government, there is a good mix of new officials and veterans that are all working together towards the same common goal. The mayor said the city is using many of the same models for successful government business that are currently working successfully on a state wide level at the capital in Madison.
