10/29 West Bend Police Crimes Report

The weekend prior to Halloween with Trick or Treat was fairly quiet on the streets of West Bend, as police are reporting just a few criminal arrests. The first happened on Sunday evening at six twenty five and involved three teenagers who may have been wiser if they had gone door to door seeking candy. According to Lieutenant Michael Hartwell of the West Bend Police, three teenage boys ages sixteen, seventeen and seventeen were in the Walgreens store on West Washington. The three teens were recognized by store employees and suspected of previous thefts. Store surveillance cameras captured one boy taking items, while the other two acted as look-outs. Store management detained the teens until police arrived. Upon questioning, the seventeen year old turned over the merchandise and then suddenly ran away. He was caught a short time later but still attempted to get away again. He was cited for retail theft and obstruction of justice for providing false information as to his identity when initially questioned and also for running away. The other seventeen year old and sixteen year old boys were cited for retail theft and party to a crime. The sixteen year old male was also cited for possession of drug paraphernalia as police found a pot pipe in his jacket.
