A male student at the West Bend High Schools became extremely disruptive during a confrontation with administrators on Wednesday and needed to be removed from the school campus by West Bend police. According to Adam Kurth, the Associate Principal at West Bend East and West High Schools the student was in the school office to discuss an incident from the previous week when he became uncooperative. He walked out of the office while he was being questioned by the school’s police liaison officer. The officer went into the hallway to ask the young man to return and he then became disruptive. Kurth said a second police officer was called in to assist with the situation and the student was then brought under control and taken into police custody. Kurth said however, rumors starting spreading around school over the situation and as a measure to ease the minds of parents, school officials issued a statement to parents. Kurth emphasized that at no point was the security of the school questioned, nor were any other students in danger As for the male student, Kurth said as of now it’s a police matter and any appropriate school disciplinary action will be handled at a later date.
