11/15 Proposal to Change School Day Times Turned Down

A proposal had been floating around the West Bend School District for just over a year that would change the start and end times of all schools. The high school times according to West Bend School Superintendent Ted Neitzke were proposed to change so as to model a typical work day. While the middle schools would have started at 730 and ended at 245p. Neitzke said a good number of people interviewed in an focus group like the idea, however they were just not in favor of it being implemented in West Bend. Neitzke said the biggest objection came from student athletes and coaches. Neitzke said the vital feedback he received from the focus groups allowed him to report to the board to not pursue the school time changes any further.
