A total of three different law enforcement agencies combined their resources on Friday night to recover a reported stolen car. According to the report from the Washington County Sheriff’s department at around eleven pm, a Slinger officer stopped a car matching the description of a stolen vehicle that was thought to be running drugs from Chicago to OshKosh from an advisory teletype sent by Wauwatosa Police. The car is stopped on Arthur Road west of Highway 144. Prior to making contact three suspects run from the car. Washington County Deputies assisted with securing the perimeter and the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department sent in their tracking dog. Initial searches did not turn up any of the three suspects. Later in the shift, Washington county deputies are sent to and address on Lakeview Circle for a report of a black male knocking on the door and asking the name of the road they are on. The description given matches the one for the suspects. Deputies then began searching area bars and at the Dieffenbach corner tavern, they are advised a Black male was also there earlier that evening asking directions. Both reported incidents were more than an hour prior to deputies having knowledge of it. The search ended. Neither the Wauwatosa nor Slinger Police wanted to take custody of the car, so it was turned back over to its owner. The report noted that a small amount of marijuana and a toy pistol were located inside the car.
