11/29 Busy Thanksgiving Eve for Sheriff Deputies

It was anything but a quiet Thanksgiving Eve for Washington County Sheriff Deputies.  Several OWI arrests and an accident occurred during the shift from five pm until five am Thanksgiving morning. The first call was received at about six twenty five. A driver placed a cell phone call reporting an erratic driver northbound on Highway 41. The vehicle was located and stopped along 41 near Freistadt Road and County GV. The driver, a 23 year old man from Shawno was questioned and then arrested for drugs OWI and on some outstanding arrest warrants. The Hartford Police Department assisted by supplying a drug recognition expert. The second call came at about ten forty as a report of a two vehicle accident along Highway 41 North Bound, just north of Highway 144 and PT. According to the deputy’s report one victim a 16 year old Brownsville girl was transported to Hartford hospital with complaints of a head injury after hitting her head on her vehicles steering wheel. Citations  were issued for Operating without Insurance to the vehicle that was struck driven by a 38 year old City of Hartford woman  and  a  traveling too fast for conditions citation  was issued to the at fault driver the 16 year old Brownsville female.  
Deputies also are reporting two other OWI violations on the roads. A vehicle was called in as being stopped on the N/B off ramp at 41 and K. Upon arrival deputies found the driver passed out at the wheel. That person was arrested for an OWI. Next,  a 28 year old West Bend man was arrested for an OWI after putting his vehicle in the ditch on Cty Tk Y north of Washington Drive. No further information on either of these arrests is available at this time as the cases are not into or have cleared the system computer yet.
