The first week of December gets underway with a regular scheduled meeting of the Kewaskum Village Board tonight at seven pm. The various department heads will give updated reports including Fire Chief Mark Groeschel and Police Chief Thomas Bishop. Chief Groeschel will conduct a discussion and look for possible action on the village rescue squad pay schedule. Police Chief Bishop will discuss the possibility of a squad replacement cycle. Newly appointed DPW Coordinator Chad Cook will update the board on his department’s recent activities, including any recommended changes to the village employee’s handbook. Also scheduled to give reports are Village Administrator Matt Heiser; Zoning Administrator Chad Cook and clerk / Deputy Treasurer Stephanie Justman. Several items of concern to be addressed in new business include the discussion and possible action on a letter of interest received to fill the vacant trustee seat due to a resignation, plus one item sure to draw plenty of discussion and possible controversy is the introduction of a resolution on opposing a sales tax for a new Milwaukee sports arena. The board meeting will be in the Council Room of the Municipal Building at 204 First Street. It is open to Kewaskum residents.
