The Kewaskum Village Board addressed several items at their meeting on Monday night. One item of importance was selecting an individual to fill a vacant seat on the board. A total of three letters of intent were submitted since the solicitation period began on November fourth. Village Administrator Matt Heiser said for the third applicant they received a letter on Monday asking to withdraw. Don Hemauer, who ran for the board in April, also applied for the trustee opening stressing that he has been a county resident since 1941. Following discussion, the board choose Dave Spenner to become the village of Kewaskum’s newest trustee. Spenner is a four-year resident of the community with 38 years experience in law enforcement. He is a retired police chief for Racine. He will finish the term of Joel Serwe who resigned October 31st. Serwe told village officials he resigned because of family and business commitments. Spenner will be sworn into office at the next board meeting in January. He will face election in April 2015.
