1/6 Extreme Cold Weather Forces West Bend Garbage Collection Cancellation

Due to the Extreme Cold Weather, the City of West Bend Public Works has cancelled garbage and recycling for both today and tomorrow.  Garbage collection will resume on Wednesday with collection of Monday and Tuesday routes. On Thursday, Wednesday roués will be collected and then on Friday both Thursday and NORMAL Friday routes will be collected. Residents are asked to cooperate by placing their garbage and recycling at the curb by 645am.  As a result of the extended delay this week of garbage collections, curbside Christmas tree collection originally scheduled to start today, will now begin on Monday January 13th and continue through Friday January 24th. Please remove plastic bags and decorations from trees before placing trees at the curb for collection. If you prefer not waiting until next week, you can bring your tree to the organic drop off site on Municipal Drive. Winter hours are 7am until 2pm Monday thru Friday and 8am until 130pm on the second last Saturdays weather permitting.

In addition to garbage collection in West Bend , Kewaskum Village Administrator Matt Heiser  is announcing that  Advanced Disposal, the contractor used by the Village of Kewaskum to collect trash, notified the Village that they will not collect any of their customers today due to the severe cold.  Thus, their normal collection dates the remainder of this week will be delayed one day.
