1/8 City Garbage Collection Resumes Today

The City of West Bend Public Works Department reminds everyone that garbage and recycling collection which was cancelled the past two days due to the extreme cold will resume today. The delayed schedule for the remainder of the week will follow this schedule. Today crews will handle collection of Monday and Tuesday routes. On Thursday, Wednesday roués will be collected and then on Friday both Thursday and NORMAL Friday routes will be collected. Residents are asked to cooperate by placing their garbage and recycling at the curb by 645am.  As a result of the extended delay this week of garbage collections, curbside Christmas tree collection originally scheduled to have started on Monday, will now begin on Monday January 13th and continue through Friday January 24th. Please remove plastic bags and decorations from trees before placing trees at the curb for collection. If you prefer not waiting until next week, you can bring your tree to the organic drop off site on Municipal Drive.  Hours are 7am until 2pm Monday thru Friday and 8am until 130pm on the second last Saturdays weather permitting.  Another reminder the warming house at the Regner Park ice skating pond will re-open at 5 p.m. Normal operating hours for the warming house are Monday through Friday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 9 p.m.
