The return of the cold arctic weather blast today and tomorrow once again has cancelled classes in the Milwaukee Public school district and in Kewaskum here in Washington County. However, classes are being held as scheduled today in the West Bend School District. WBKV News spoke exclusively with school Superintendent Ted Neitzke and he provided us with today’s decision to hold classes. Neitzke said it was a hard decision to have to make today. But as long as the roads were clear for the busses to get through, the call was made to have schools open for classes today. He said he was out very early and drove around the district and felt it would be alright for some students to be out if they needed to walk to school. With today’s decision having been made, Neitzke will now watch the weather forecast for tomorrow. There is a more severe wind chill advisory being called for Tuesday, so Neitzke is advising parents to look into making alternative plans for their children tomorrow as it appears the weather could be worse and force a cancellation day.
